Congratulations are in order for the first Free 2 Be football team.
The boys won their first friendly match in July this year. We are very proud of them and rightly so they have all worked really hard to be on the team. They have an enthusiastic cheering squad too!
We had some excellent results in the end of term exams in July. You can see from this photo the new smart and tidy classrooms with coat pegs and pigeon holes.
The top 3 students in July were (from left) Velma, 3rd place a total orphan who lives in the 'safe house,' Haggai 2nd place, and Naomi 1st place. Some of you will remember Naomi; the one who's feet were so badly infested with jiggers back in January 2013. She arrived at the school with her 2 brothers, Martin and Dickson. We treated them for jiggers and they started attending the school. They all live with new surrogate parents now, due to their mother disappearing. Their father died in 2012. It's quite amazing that Naomi has been chosen by the other children to be head girl of the school. When she first joined Free 2 Be Primary the other children didn't want to sit near her because of the 'jiggers.'
We have had an abundance of clothing, knitted blankets and even a whole reading and maths scheme donated to be sent to Kenya this year. Thankfully we have had some wonderful willing volunteers who have helped with the sorting, vacuum packing, boxing, listing and labelling required for shipment.
Thanks to Keith at Allpac in Barnsley our shipment is well on it's way to the villages.
This is the playground we will have built when Kate goes to the villages on 13th September. The 3 younger classes at the school will have this 'dream come true' playground in their own special area allowing them to play safely. We hope to build something for the older children too. We will also complete the building work at the school and training college. Building a house for the orphan children in Chemwa village is also on the 'to-do' list, along with completion of the 2 agricultural projects and completion of the new chicken houses.
James 1:27 Christ-ianity is to show ‘love in action’ through support and encouragement to widows and orphans in need.

We would ask that you pray for our imminent visit. Kate leaves on 13th September and will meet other team members in Nairobi a week later.
We have so many of you to say thank you to in this newsletter, you have been such a blessing to us, even since we announced the winding up of Free 2 Be as a registered charity.
Although Free 2 Be will cease to be a charity by the end of the year we will still be visiting the villages each year to encourage, teach and minister all that God gives us to share. We are also still available to come and share our wonderful journey with your group or church. It really is an inspirational message of what God can do when His people join together and set their hearts to reach out and touch the world to make it a better place.
Thank you.
Firstly to Pastor Peter and all at Hoyland Christian Fellowship, our new church; for their constant love and support especially through this difficult transition time, also assisting with funds for Kate's unexpected mission next week. Thank you to Bentley Baptist Church for allowing us to raise funds at their Centenary Celebration in June and great support from their members. The funds raised in  New Zealand have been a phenomenal blessing, arriving into the UK account. Thanks also to the enthusiastic team at Holy Trinity in Clayhanger raising tremendous amounts through various fundraisers over the summer.
God is good and see's our hearts, He has blessed us in ways beyond measure though your generosity.
A very big thank you to all those of you who sent us personal gifts too, this has been a wonderful blessing and has kept us afloat during all the extra work involved with winding up the charitable status. You are constantly reminding us that we should have allowed Free 2 Be to at least return the expenses we have personally invested. Little did we know that the work would take up so much of our time and not allow us to have a paid job too.
We see.........God's Love in Action
when we reach out and touch the world.
Invite us to share our story
We have had quite a few orders for the Free 2 Be bags, and we have some left here in the UK. They are £2.99 and make a great sports/gym bag. They send out a great message to the world too!
You can still order them using the contact details below.
We’re sure you will agree, by having the policy of 100% of donations being used on fulfilling our purpose. It has enabled Free 2 Be to be 100% effective.

Free 2 Be is Kate and John's full-time ministry, they have never received any funding or expenses from your donations to Free 2 Be to support themselves. If you would like to support them directly then donations can be made to their personal bank account below. Any donations to this account will be used to fund our January visit when John will accompany Kate and the team to minister and see all that has been done since he was last there in 2010.
Very big thanks to those of you who have already responded with love gifts and those who have set up standing orders, you have blessed us beyond measure.
